Claudia West will lead a 4-hour design workshop at the 2017 Western on "Designing Resilient and Stunningly Beautiful Plant Communities."
Join Claudia as she digs deeper into the art and science of successful planting design. This interactive workshop teaches an alternative to traditional planting and will take the mystery out of good plant combinations. Participants will learn how to create beautiful and lasting plant communities for modern landscape needs. Several hands-on design exercises will give guests the opportunity to refine newly acquired planting design and management skills so they can successfully apply them to upcoming projects.
This special, ticketed event is limited to 25 participants and is $249 per person (WNLA member rate).
West is the co-author of Planting in a Post-Wild World: Designing Plant Communities for Resilient Landscapes and has an extensive background in horticulture, ecology, and environmental restoration. She is a consultant for North Creek Nurseries and has also worked for landscape architects Wolfgang Oehme and Carol Oppenheimer and for Sylva Native Nursery.
West will also present a keynote address on Planting in a Post-Wild World, offer an Ignite session at the Wednesday evening reception and will hold a student forum Q&A session for horticulture students during the Western. The 2017 Western is January 19-20, 2017 in Kansas City, Mo. More information can be found at wnla.org.
