DENSO ADC launched a new and more versatile AT20-Q handheld scanner, which offers high-speed scanning of both 2-D barcodes, such as the QR code, as well as conventional 1-D barcodes. The AT20Q features a high-speed shutter that eliminates the effect of camera shake and allows quick reading from any direction, increasing operator efficiency. Anti-reflection technology enables reliable reading of barcodes on mobile-phone LCD screens. A newly developed scanning module easily accommodates 1-D barcodes with resolutions down to 0.125 mm and 2-D barcodes down to 0.167 mm, further extending the AT20-Q’s application range. The AT2-0Q’s compact, lightweight and ergonomic design makes it easy to hold and use, reducing operator fatigue. The AT20-Q is also highly durable, with a rugged, shock-absorbing construction that allows it to withstand being dropped onto a concrete floor from a height of 6.5 feet — the highest standard in its class — and 100,000 times from 7.9 inches, sustaining a far greater number of impacts than would ordinarily occur in actual use. In addition, the device features IP42 dust- and water-resistant protection, as well as a connector-cable locking mechanism that prevents damage to the connector or cable.
