In celebration of its 10th anniversary of planting pride in America, America in Bloom has released the book, “Ten Years of Best Ideas.” The 214-page book is a compilation of the best and brightest practices in AIB’s nearly 200 participating towns. It also features essays written by 14 towns on the benefits of participating in the annual program. The book is organized by the eight AIB judging criteria: tidiness, environmental efforts, heritage preservation, urban forestry, community involvement, landscaped areas, floral displays, and turf and groundcovers. Each chapter features an introduction written by one or more of the AIB judges. The ideas can be used by cities of any size as a starting point for planning civic improvements.
