A story in the Canby Herald reported the fire broke out around 5 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 in a 10,000-square-foot warehouse. Firefighters stopped the blaze before it reached a cold-storage cooler.
The day before the fire broke out, the business’s owner stained 5,000 square feet of cedar boards, which were being dried in the warehouse, the paper reported. The official cause of the fire has not yet been determined, but investigators have not ruled out spontaneous ignition of oil-soaked rags as a possible cause.
