The 2007 selections include: ‘American Sweetheart,’ ‘Blue Mouse Ears,’ ‘Captain Kirk,’ ‘Dream Weaver,’ ‘Earth Angel,’ ‘Independence’ PP17044, ‘Lakeside Shore Master,’ ‘Old Glory’ PP12503, ‘Praying Hands,’ ‘Rainforest Sunrise,’ ‘Satisfaction’ and ‘Stained Glass.’
Candidates for the program are overwintered for a minimum of two growing seasons. To qualify as a Designer Hosta, plants must have “distinctive” traits such as leaf color, variegation pattern, size, landscape clump form, substance of leaves, texture of leaves, and long-lasting flowers.
