Roemer Nursery believes Walmart is “knowingly releasing contaminated water, which drains from the roof and parking lot of its Supercenter at 6067 North Ridge Road, into Madison’s local ground and surface water. The contaminated water contains pollutants including salts and other chemicals, which are damaging to the surface and groundwater, the soil, aquatic life, wild life and the surrounding environment.” The runoff from Walmart has affected irrigation water at Roemer Nursery and damaged much of the nursery’s plants. The nursery has tried to settle this issue with the retailer since 2006, but Walmart has not cooperated.
