This week, The National Garden Bureau (NGB), the 105-year-old non-profit organization dedicated to fostering gardening, announced that the 2026 Green Thumb Award competition is now open for voting.
These awards, established in 1998, recognize new plant varieties and gardening products that are unique, innovative and offer effective solutions to common gardening problems.
The horticulture industry is invited to participate in selecting the People’s Choice Awards by casting their votes directly on the NGB website. Voters can select their favorites across six vital categories:
- Annuals
- Perennials
- Shrubs
- Edibles
- Houseplants
- Garden Products
Winners for both the "Professional’s Choice" and the "People’s Choice" awards will be officially announced in January 2026.
If you would like more information about the Green Thumb Awards program or membership in National Garden Bureau, please contact NGB Executive Director Diane Blazek or send an email to info@ngb.org or phone 630-963-0770.
