ORANGE, Calif.-- Village Nurseries Wholesale, LLC, a specialty grower for landscape professionals, today announced Rick Rehm has been named the company’s new chief financial officer, replacing Wayne Johnson, who is retiring after 16 years of service with the company.
Rehm has more than 27 years of wholesale nursery industry experience, most recently at Bank of the West (BOTW) as vice president and senior relationship manager, where, for the past 10 years, he was in charge of the Village Nurseries account based out of Corona, Calif. As a specialist commercial lending officer, he concentrated on middle market nursery/greenhouse financing, analyzing pertinent financial and credit information to ensure compliance with credit quality standards and regulatory requirements.
“Rick leads by example,” said David House, Village Nurseries president and CEO. “He’s a decisive, results-oriented leader who creates a positive environment that fosters innovation, personal investment and excellence. His intimate knowledge of the company’s financial workings will be instrumental in helping us continue to grow as one of the West’s leading wholesale nurseries.”
Prior to working at BOTW Rehm worked for Bordier’s Nursery in Irvine as their vice president of finance and CFO, where he directly supervised accounting, information, technology, credit purchasing, human resources and payroll departments. He also served as financial planning manager at West Covina, Calif.-based Eggs West/Bakers Choice and as assistant vice president and loan officer at Orange Production Credit Association of Garden Grove, Calif.
In addition, he served on the insurance advisement committee of the California Association of Nurserymen and is a committeeman on the Fresh Produce and Floral Council.
Rehm has a B.S. in Crop Science with a minor in agricultural business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and an MBA from California State University, Long Beach. He is married with three sons and resides in Chino Hills, Calif.
