TreeTown USA acquires Midas Nursery Solutions

The Oregon-based automation solutions provider is TreeTown USA's first acquisition that doesn't include a nursery operation.

HOUSTON -- TreeTown USA has acquired the horticulture automation company Midas Nursery Solutions of Hillsboro, Ore. for an undisclosed amount.

The agreement represents TreeTown USA’s first acquisition that doesn’t consist of a nursery operation and further solidifies its continuing commitment to deploying the most advanced automation, mechanization, and lean practices available in the industry.

"Having Midas as a part of the family will go a long way in helping us develop, implement and institutionalize industry leading solutions to mechanization and lean practices," said TreeTown USA CEO Jonathan Saperstein. "What’s more, this expanded relationship will allow us to better capitalize on Midas’ capabilities and values that they have continued to demonstrate over the years of our work with them."

Matt Gold, Midas Nursery Solutions president, will join TreeTown USA as its director of continuous improvements.

“The opportunity to continue my work alongside the excellent leadership team at TreeTown USA and have access to TreeTown USA’s tremendous resources to help them achieve their objectives was something I just couldn’t pass up,” Gold said.

Going forward, Midas, as a subsidiary of TreeTown USA, will no longer support outside companies and will concentrate on supporting its parent company. With the acquisition, Gold will assume direct responsibility for TreeTown USA’s industrial engineering and project teams.

In 2017, TreeTown USA acquired Village Nurseries in California as the first branch of its West Coast Division. In 2018, the company acquired Hines Growers in California and Oregon. With these recent acquisitions, the combined company now has a coast-to-coast footprint, including 18 growing facilities totaling over 6,000 production acres across Texas, Florida, Oregon and California.
