Connecticut adds three plants to invasive list

Porcelainberry, slender snake cotton and Oriental lady’s thumb now considered invasive.

The Connecticut invasive plants council upgraded the three plants from potentially invasive to invasive at its November meeting. The council also wants to re-visit the issue of how cultivars of invasives are treated in future meetings, according to Bob Heffernan, executive secretary at Connecticut Nursery and Landscape Association.

A list of the state’s invasive plants is here.
