CANBY, OREGON. – Terra Nova Nurseries announced today a sneak peek of two variety introductions for growers, coleus ‘Lovebird’ and Coleus ‘Macaw’. The latest additions to the company Terra NovaSeries, these charming varieties are already creating a buzz among growers seeking information about new liner options.
Coleus Terra Nova ‘Lovebird’ is an eye-catching bun of a plant with small fingered leaves in red and edged in yellow. Its small, compact habit looks adorable in small pots. For optimal growth, this variety should be well-drained with a moderate organic content.
Coleus Terra Nova 'Macaw’ has a compact, tight habit, and leaves that are maroon and lobed with cream centers. This self-branching plant makes for a cute, small container plant. ‘Macaw’ grows in zones 10 – 11 and requires shade to part shade in order to flourish. Terra Nova Nurseries has created “Plant Profile” pages and “Grower Recipes” specific to these new varieties so growers interested in possible liner orders can learn about growing habits, plant characteristics, fertilization recommendations, water requirements, and other insights provided by the breeding team.
