Montyline am is a new predatory mite available from Syngenta Bioline. The mite offers long-lasting protection from thrip and whitefly attacks in a range of protected flower and vegetable crops. It has been highly effective in trials and allows users to extend the season of protection using biological controls.
The product is a faster colonising and more voracious predatory mite. The mite will control pests for longer across a wider range of conditions, compared to the commonly used Amblyseius swirskii mites, according to Syngenta.
“The mites in Montyline am become active earlier in the spring and continue to control pests for longer as temperatures decline in the autumn,” a Syngenta Bioline Field Development Manager said.
Montyline am is currently available in the UK and Netherlands. Use in other countries around the world will be subject to the granting of applicable permits and registrations. The product is sold in the company’s mini-sachet system for uniform distribution and Bugline for use in ornamental crops.
