Tax Foundation releases State Business Tax Climate Index

The Tax Foundation, a nonprofit research organization, each year creates the State Business Tax Climate Index. It’s a great way for policymakers and taxpayers to see how their state’s tax systems compare to others. “ …apart from whether a state’s total tax burden is higher than in other states, it can enact – and many states do – a set of tax laws that cause great damage to the economy,” said Kail M. Padgitt, an economist at the Tax Foundation.
