HALF MOON BAY, Calif. -- Rocket Farms is preparing to make the year's first shipment of its small fruit program in mid to late February. This is the first year Rocket Farms will be making these products available to its customers, and is an example of the expanded product offerings the Nurserymen's Exchange merger has brought to the Rocket Farms brand.
The small fruit program features its most popular product: blueberries, available in the Sharpblue and Misty varieties. Raspberries, thornless blackberries and small pomegranates are also available and round out the potted fruits selection. These products complement the potted edibles line Rocket Farms is well known for: most notably tomatoes, herbs, and peppers.
Rocket Farm's small fruit program caters to the "grow your own" mentality and the health conscience, offering customers the readily available option of growing some of their favorite fruits.
The small fruit plants are meant to be grown outside, either in the ground or potted, and will become available across the country as the weather becomes appropriate. Though small when purchased, the plants will grow 3-6' wide and 6-12' high, depending on plant type. They can be found at retailers across the country, such as Wal-Mart and Home Depot.
Rocket Farms is the third largest wholesale greenhouse grower in the country and second largest in California. The company grows and supplies unique, high quality indoor potted blooming and foliage plants and a full range of edible herbs, fruits and vegetables. Rocket Farms' ten greenhouse-growing facilities in Northern California are spread throughout Half Moon Bay and the Salinas Valley, offering ideal growing conditions for our products. With over 100 years of growing experience, the company is constantly looking forward to new, innovative products and having fun doing it.
