The Oregon Environmental Council and the Oregon Association of Nurseries have partnered on an innovative Climate Friendly Nurseries Project (CFNP) to help nurseries reduce energy use and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Through the CFNP, nurseries can detail and quantify their energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, and identify specific ways to reduce both. The project’s central goal is to help participating nurseries reduce energy inputs and GHG emissions, while achieving greater economic efficiency and profitability. Participating nurseries include Bailey Nurseries, Blooming Nursery, Evans Farms, Heritage Seedlings, J. Frank Schmidt & Son Co., Monrovia and Northwest Nursery. Other growers are encouraged to participate.
