On Monday, the department of horticulture and landscape architecture announced there will be a new department head this fall.
Hazel Wetzstein, previously a faculty member and professor at the University of Georgia, will begin her duty as department head beginning on August 1.
She received a bachelor’s degree in biology from California State University in 1975 and a doctorate in botany three years later from the University of California-Davis. She worked as a faculty member at the University of Nevada before she became a professor at Georgia.
