PLNA meetup set for Hershey Gardens

The event takes place Sept. 14 and includes a tour of the new conservatory and butterfly atrium.

Pennsylvania Landscape and Nursery Association members and their colleagues have the opportunity to visit and tour Hershey Gardens and the new Milton & Catherine Hershey Conservatory and Butterfly Atrium as part of a PLNA MeetUp event on Sept. 14. PLNA has been granted exclusive access to the grounds that evening with guided tours including the Butterfly Atrium.

PLNA has been involved in the conservatory project from its beginning. PLNA members contributed on the design of the landscape, donation of plants and installation of the landscaping beauty that surrounds this new facility overlooking Hershey.

Two of those members, Ed Copenhaver, Stony Bridge Landscaping, and John Otterson, PA Landscape Group, worked with the Hershey Gardens, also a PLNA Member, to set up this PLNA MeetUp event together so that all members can visit the efforts of the PLNA community.

The MeetUp will begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at 7:00 p.m. Plan to arrive early to ensure you can explore the entire grounds. In addition to the exclusive access, the registration fee includes a picnic of hamburgers and hot dogs along with chips, salads, fruit, cookies and beverages.

The PLNA Board of Directors and staff will be providing a brief update on the current projects PLNA is pursuing. The MeetUp will be held rain or shine as we will be hosted in the facility's Educational & Horticultural Wing.

The cost of the event is $20 for an adult, $15 for a child ages 3 to 12, under 3 is free.

Families and employees are welcome. Also, colleagues who are not members of PLNA are welcome.

Registration closes at 3:00 p.m. on Sept. 9. Questions? Contact Cathy Corrigan at ccorrigan@PLNA.com or 717.238.1683 or Tina Rife at tmrife@PLNA.com or 717.238.1676.
