A fire broke out Jan. 21 at Pleasant View Gardens in Loudon, N.H., and destroyed a 1-acre greenhouse. Damage is estimated at $1 million. No one was hurt and the company continues to take orders, said company president Henry Huntington.
The fire stopped before it took out more greenhouses. “It’s amazing; where it connects to another greenhouse, the fire just stopped,” Huntington said.
To account for the damaged greenhouse, Pleasant View opened an area not normally used for production to further ensure continued supply. “This way we don’t have to outsource,” he said.
