Nick Nieuwesteeg has joined Plantipp of the Netherlands and its American sister company, Concept Plants, as of Sept. 1.
Nieuwesteeg has over 13 years of experience in the industry, including management positions at both plant breeders and retailers.
In his new role, he will leverage his expertise to strengthen relationships and create new opportunities for both companies.
"I feel like a lot of my experience gained as a breeder, grower and retailer is coming together here," he said. "I always strive to create added value through sustainable partnerships by looking at the product and the business in a creative way. I feel honored and look forward to continuing to build with the passionate team at Plantipp and Concept Plants."
Representing more than 250 new plant varieties from 150 breeders, Concept Plants introduces new varieties into the North American market. From plant patents, introductions and trialing to trial-and-license agreements, photography and royalties, Concept Plants serves as a link among breeders, growers and gardeners.
"Nick's enthusiasm and openness are a perfect fit for our team," said Peter van Rijssen, owner of Plantipp. "We know him as someone with extensive product range knowledge who, just like us, dares to think outside the box. We look forward to working with him!"
