The Phlox paniculata Candy Store series from Novalis is the latest NMPro New Plant Pavilion winner.
Attendees at this month’s ANLA Management Clinic voted on their favorite plant.
The series is available in four colors – Coral Creme Drop, Cotton Candy, Bubblegum Pink and Grape Lollipop. Clusters of highly fragrant flowers begin to bloom in early summer filling the garden with a sweet fragrance until fall. The flowers are excellent for attracting butterflies and hummingbirds.
Grow in full sun and moist, well-drained soil. Average height is 24-36 inches. Hardy in USDA Hardiness Zones 4-8. The series is extremely resistant to mildew.
“I’ve never seen anything like it,” said J. Guy, president of Carolina Nurseries, the home to the Novalis brand. “They are long-blooming and disease tolerant. Give them full sun, fertile soil, and a cut-back midseason, and they will produce flowers for six months.”
