The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) and the Center for Applied Horticultural Research (CfAHR) will host the “Pest Monitoring in Ornamental Plant Production” workshop. This workshop will be offered in English on Tuesday, Oct. 30, and in Spanish on Wednesday, Oct. 31. It will cover several areas of pest management, including basic entomology, microscope identification of collected pests, and field collection of pests and damage. The workshop will take place at the CfAPHR’s conference room in San Marcos, Calif.
“Pest Monitoring in Ornamental Plant Production” will be held on both days from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost is $90 and includes a continental breakfast, lunch and a binder with two extensive handouts on common pests of ornamentals and effective monitoring techniques. Attendees will also receive a 10X hand lens and a poster of photos of common pests and natural enemies.
