Boston, MA – November 30, 2015 – New England GROWS announced today the debut of a new video, “Finding Your Place in the Green Industry,” which is available to the commercial horticulture community on YouTube. Developed by New England GROWS in collaboration with its four founding partner organizations, the video highlights green industry professionals, from students to experienced veterans, commenting on what they enjoy about their careers in commercial horticulture. “Finding and recruiting qualified employees is the number one challenge in our industry today,” said Virginia Wood, Executive Director of New England GROWS. “We produced this video to support recruitment efforts and educate young people about the advantages of a career in commercial horticulture. We want them to understand that green industry professionals act as environmental stewards who use science, technology, and their creativity every day. We hope everyone will use this new resource to draw more people to our industry,” she said.
“Finding Your Place in the Green Industry” will debut at New England GROWS, December 2 to 4, 2015 in Boston. The video will serve as a cornerstone for GROWS’ Future Leaders program which brings together hundreds of students from across the region and gives them an opportunity to meet with industry professionals.The video will also be shown throughout the conference on the tradeshow floor.
