Nursery Management hosted 30 green-industry leaders for its inaugural Nursery Grower Business Coalition (NGBC) meeting in Fort Worth, Texas, Oct. 8-10. The NGBC consists of innovators in the market who, during their time in Fort Worth, investigated and analyzed the industry’s most critical issues.
During the first evening, attendees got the chance to learn more about one another at the opening reception. But the real work began the morning of Oct. 9. This dynamic group broke into small groups for candid roundtable discussions regarding labor, production automation, water, marketing, market contraction and growth, government regulation, shipping, and energy. The NGBC brainstormed solutions to improve each attendees' business, as well as the industry as a whole.
Each participant provided interesting perspectives and beneficial ideas to the group and gained valuable concepts and plans from others.
On the final day, the attendees identified critical action points based on the previous day's discussions.
We’ll present those action plans to the industry in future issues of Nursery Management.
