McCorkle Nurseries added a new loropetalum series to its Gardener’s Confidence Collection. The Glowing Horizons series contains two varieties that are smaller in growth habit and have intensely bright flowers.
Little Rose Dawn has deep-rosy-pink blossoms and purple-burgundy foliage. It reaches 8 feet tall and 15 feet wide.
Ever Red Sunset has true dark-red flowers and is smaller, reaching 6 feet tall and wide. Foliage is very dark burgundy.
Both were developed by Mark Griffith of Griffith Propagation in
Both have a stunning display of flowers starting in early spring. They have been tested for disease and insect resistance. Both can also tolerate drier conditions once established.
Plants are recommended in USDA Hardiness Zones 7-9.
