The 2012 National Green Centre will be held Jan. 8-9 in Kansas City, Mo. The “next generation green industry event” is presented by the Western Nursery & Landscape Association and will showcase 50 new plants in a fashion show.
Attendees can see the plants, talk to breeders and growers and order these new plants for spring at the event.
Breeders and growers partner to put their new ornamental, native or edible plant on the 2012 Sweet Melissa Fashion Show runway. These new plants will also appear in Lawn & Landscape’s sister publication and Garden Center Magazine as well as through the National Green Centre’s weekly newsletter, national advertising campaign and social media.
Following the fashion show, the Garden Writers Association will host an informal regional meeting where writers can interact with breeders, growers, garden center owners and others to gain a better understanding of the new plants.
The National Green Centre will showcase the plants to the consumer through relationships with industry magazines.
Event and registration information is available at www.nationalgreencentre.org.
