Janet Cole, ornamental horticulture professor at Oklahoma State University, was named an American Society of Horticultural Science (ASHS) Fellow. Being named a Fellow is the highest honor ASHS can bestow upon a member in recognition of truly outstanding contributions to horticulture and the society. “I’m very excited with this honor. Initially it was an awe-struck feeling,” Cole said. “The caliber of those who have been elected Fellow before me is amazing and it’s a little difficult to put myself in that same category. I don’t feel like I’m doing anything special. I’m just doing my job the way I think it should be done.”
