The 60th Annual Meeting of the IPPS Eastern Region is Sept. 29-Oct. 2 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick, R.I. The meeting includes educational sessions, tours and plant auctions. The pre-conference tour is slated for Wed., Sept. 29.

The first stop is Weston Nurseries, rich in history and family traditions. In business for over 85 years, the Mezitt family is internationally known for their many hybrid selections of cold-hardy rhododendrons and azaleas.
Up the road in Subbury, Mass., is Cavicchio’s Greenhouses, a vast and impressive growing operation, with more than 200 acres in production. This 100-year-old business grows annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees, container and field production, and operates a large landscape distribution division.
The tour ends at Bigelow Nurseries. Family-owned and operated since 1915, and with more than 1,300 acres of production, Bigelow’s is a leader in field-growing of woody trees and shrubs.
