Modesto, Calif. – The International Plant Propagators’ Society (IPPS) Western Region has set its annual meeting for Sept. 23 to 26 in Modesto, California.
Western Region IPPS unites individuals from Western North America and Latin America involved in commercial propagation, teaching, research, extension, and allied fields for the advancement of the art and science of plant propagation.
“This location is enriched with agriculture, providing ample opportunity for conference attendees to share knowledge and learn from local tours,” said Dr. Dharam P. Sharma, conference organizer. “Stanislaus County boasts a $13 billion agriculture economy, exporting worldwide to 130 countries.”
The meeting, to be held at Modesto’s Doubletree Plaza Hotel, will kick off with a full day of pre-conference tours to local nurseries, followed by a reception, silent auction, research poster display and trade exhibition. Subsequent days will offer a mix of local industry tours, learning sessions, poster presentations and networking opportunities. The event will close out with an awards banquet and new plant introductions.
