NEW YORK (July 13, 2016) – On August 6th, GWA: The Association of Garden Communicators will launch its newest educational program, focused exclusively on innovative ideas and the next generation with the inaugural NextGen Summit. This year’s meeting, titled “New Routes to Horticulture,” is hosted at Longwood Gardens, outside Philadelphia, Pa., and includes sessions with industry experts and access to some of the finest gardens in the county.
The summit keynote is Linda Descano, executive vice president of Havas PR, who will examine the latest macro trends in marketing and communications and learn how they will affect the next generation of green communications.
Additional speakers include:
- Joanna Groarke, director of public engagement and library exhibitions curator, New York Botanical Garden
- Katie Dubow, creative director, Garden Media Group
- Claudia West, author of "Planting in a Post-wild World: Designing Plant Communities for Resilient Landscapes" and ecological sales manager, North Creek Nurseries
- Patrick Cullina, principal, Patrick Cullina Horticultural Design + Consulting
- Ed Snodgrass, president and founder, Emory Knoll Farms.
The sessions are followed by exclusive, behind-the-scenes tours at Longwood Gardens and a special after-hours reception at Chanticleer.
