Green industry members were recognized for contributions in 2009 to the Horticultural Research Institute (HRI), the research arm of ANLA.
Dale Deppe, president of Spring Meadow Nursery in Grand Haven, Mich., donated a total of $99,675 in 2009 to the Spring Meadow Nursery Scholarship Fund and the Spring Meadow New Plants Fund.
Mark Sellew, owner of Prides Corner Farms in Lebanon, Conn., donated $37,500 in 2009. Sellew’s donation increased his established Prides Corner Farms Fund. He moved the fund from the Gold Circle ($50,000-$99,999) to the Platinum Circle ($100,000-$249,000).
