Just when you thought you knew what science was up to, it goes and pulls a fast one. Creating a plant that can glow may seem surprising, but for scientists, it’s already a familiar concept.
“It’s one of those things that if you ask scientists about, they say, ‘Oh, of course.’ But if you talk to people on the street, they think it’s magic,” said Omri Amirav-Drory, founder and CEO of Genome Compiler Corp., as well as tech lead for the successfully funded Kickstarter project, Glowing Plants: Natural Lighting with No Electricity.
