Wilsonville, Ore. -- The 2014 Farwest Trade Show, August 21-23 in Portland, Ore., will kickstart with its first ever Equipment Innovation Day, Tuesday, August 19. Equipment Innovation Day takes place off-site at two Willamette Valley nurseries and is a real-time showcase for the very latest in heavy and automated nursery equipment. Host nurseries will also treat visitors to inside looks at innovative production processes that streamline and maximize their day-to-day operations.
Equipment company representatives will be on-hand to demonstrate the products in action and answer questions. This is the first time Farwest has taken production equipment from the show fl oor into the field to give attendees opportunities to see and evaluate product capabilities. Participating nurseries are Woodburn Nursery & Azalea Inc. and Bountiful Farms Nursery Inc. in Woodburn. Equipment on hand will range from process-line machinery to product transport and more. In addition to the equipment presentations, the host nurseries will take attendees inside their operations for close-up looks at some their latest innovations in production techniques and best practices. Tours will highlight methods that have resulted in higher efficiencies, cost-savings, and greater output. Woodburn Nursery and Bountiful Farms have track records for innovative approaches in nursery production.
Equipment Innovation Day is a one-day event. Travel by bus is provided by the Farwest Trade Show from the Oregon
