Emerald Coast Growers has added greenhouse production space to its Florida locations in Pensacola and Milton. All of the new facilities are X.S. Smith Criteria greenhouses
The two new houses at the company’s Pensacola headquarters total about 15,000 sq. ft. and will be dedicated to propagation of perennials such as ajuga, of which the company grows eight varieties.
The 20,000 new square feet dedicated to pennisetum production are still under construction at the company's largest facility, a 50-acre farm near Milton, where most of the grasses are lined out in the field and divided in greenhouses. Target completion date is January 2011.
