Lacebark Inc. has received a patent number for the 10th ‘Whit’ Cultivars crapemyrtle. Double Dynamite Lagerstroemia indica has earned the number PP27085.
Double Dynamite Lagerstroemia indica is the third release of the sterile, continual-blooming Play It Again crapemyrtle series. This new crapemyrtle has some big shoes to fill, but the cherry-red flowers in full sun and uninterrupted blooming for 100 or more days in Oklahoma make it worthy of its Dynamite trademark name. It has a heavily branched growth habit and wine colored new growth, which darkens with age. Its estimated height is 8-10 feet and it is disease resistant.
