The Delaware Center for Horticulture, 1810 N. Dupont St., Wilmington, will offer a new tree steward training program on Sept. 20, 27, and Oct. 4, for volunteers who want to advocate for tress in their communities.
The sessions will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays. Tree stewards will learn about the environmental, economic and social benefits of trees. The cost of the certification program is $10 and scholarships are available.
Participants who attend all three classes will also receive a hand tool to take home. The registration deadline is Sept. 19. For more information, visit www.TheDCH.org.
