Cathy Corrigan appointed president of PLNA

The board of directors of the Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association (PLNA) announced that Gregg Robertson is stepping down as president of the organization on May 31, 2013 and that Cathy Corrigan, currently PLNA's director of finance and administration, has been appointed by the board to the president's position effective June 1, 2013.

"PLNA is fortunate to have two talented executives that will allow for a smooth transition in staff leadership," said Jim MacKenzie, chairman of the PLNA board of directors and president of Octoraro Native Plant Nursery. "Given the uncertain economy, changing technology and emerging member needs, the board is pleased to have someone of Cathy's talents ready to take over leadership of the organization."

Corrigan joined PLNA as the director of finance and administration in July 2004. An accountant with a BS from Shippensburg University and an MBA from Kutztown University, Corrigan was an auditor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for six years. She also has held management positions with the Reading Area Community College, the Berks Area Regional Transit Authority and Easter Seals before joining PLNA.

"I'm pleased to have the opportunity to lead PLNA. This is a time of transition as PLNA implements improved technology to better meet industry and member needs," said Corrigan. "I am excited about the potential we have to serve the green industry and increase our membership."

While stepping down as president, Robertson will continue to handle government relations under contract for PLNA. Robertson was president of PLNA for over 11 years.
