At the Connecticut Green Industry's insistence, the two bills that passed the Connecticut Senate and House last week that would require GMO labeling of foods and seeds now has language that says: "Seed or seed stock that is intended to produce food for human consumption shall be deemed misbranded if it is genetically-engineered ..." would be required to be labeled. The older version would have applied to seeds for flowering plants.
The latest bill prevents the law from kicking in unless four other states adopt it.
