The Connecticut Nursery and Landscape Association and the Connecticut Greenhouse Growers Association have teamed up to launch the Connecticut GardenStars marketing program. It begins April 2010 and is aimed at consumers to buy “The right plants. Grown right here.”
The campaign is backed by a $75,000 USDA specialty crop grant. Substantial marketing materials will support the program. Connecticut GardenStars will debut Feb. 18 at the Connecticut Flower & Garden Show in Hartford. The first plants out of the shoot are Pieris and pansies.
