WALNUT CREEK, CALIF. — Concise, a plant growth regulator (PGR) for ornamental producers from Fine Americas, is now registered for use in Canada.
“This registration opens the door for Canadian growers to step up their growth control approach with a proven, effective tool backed by years of science and successful commercial greenhouse use,” says Greg Johnson, president of Fine Americas.
A uniconazole-p growth regulator, Concise is highly effective at low use rates, according to a press release. It reduces plant height by limiting internode elongation, resulting in more desirable, compact and marketable plants. Concise has also been shown to increase plant quality in the absence of noticeable growth reductions, raising chlorophyll content leading to darker green leaves, increased leaf thickness, stronger stems, improved water retention and at times, increased flower number and size.
Concise is registered for use on a number of ornamental crops including bedding plants, potted plants (flower/foliage), bulb corps (herbaceous and woody), perennials and others. Apply via foliar spray, drench, dip (bulb/liner) or media spray. It is available in 2-liter jugs.
