Pretty penny
Redemption Colocasia is now exclusively available through both Southern Living Plant Collection and Sunset Plant Collection. Pacific Plug & Liner provides the liners. The plant is so popular that breeder Brian Williams sold one plant for $12,500. Read more about it here.
Redemption Colocasia features black leaves with pink centers. Rippled, shiny leaves mature from green to black with the pink blotch growing as the leaves mature.
Any grower can buy the plant that comes with a Sunset or Southern Living tag, but there is no pot requirement.

Water conservation
PP&Lshowcased several water-wise plants including Lomandra Miner’s Gold from the Sunset Plant Collection. This bright lomandra features a slightly arching habit. When grown in full sun, it displays a more golden color, yet appears more lime green when grown in shade. Hardy in Zones 8-10, it grows up to 20 inches tall and wide.
