RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – As part of the ongoing plan to expand into the production ornamentals market, Environmental Science, a business unit of the Crop Science division of Bayer, today announced the appointment of Steven Larson as an ornamental specialist. In his new role, Larson will help build the Bayer brand with customers and distributors in the ornamentals market.
“Steve has extensive experience and a strong technical background that will help identify solutions for our customers.” said John Wendorf, Manager for the Bayer professional ornamentals business. “Using a consultative approach, Bayer is committed to providing innovation and stewardship to customers.”
Larson has been involved in the industry for a number of years, focusing mostly on customer relationships and collaboration. He has been the plant health manager with Hines Nursery (now a property of Color Spot Nurseries) and The Brookwood Community, field technical manager for The Scotts Company, and served in sales and sales management positions with Whitmire Micro-Gen, The Scotts Company and BASF. Larson holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Purdue University in horticulture.
