Connecticut will not be asked to regulate bamboo as an invasive plant, said Bob Heffernan, executive secretary of the Connecticut Nursery and Landscape Association (CNLA).
The Connecticut Invasive Plants Council agreed bamboo can be a problem, they agreed generally the plant doesn’t meet the definition of an invasive plant, he said.
CNLA representatives told the council it would help educate the public and the green industry on how to construct barriers to contain bamboo rhizomes that spread bamboo.
