Ball Tagawa earns certification

Ball Tagawa Growers in Arroyo Grande, Calif., has been certified under the VeriFlora sustainability certification program for fresh cut flowers and potted plants. The company, a joint venture of Ball Horticultural in West Chicago, Ill., and Tagawa Greenhouses in Brighton, Colo., produces plugs and liners for wholesale growers. Asters, begonias, impatiens, lisianthus, pansies, petunias and primula are examples of plant classes certified by VeriFlora. VeriFlora certification is conducted by Scientific Certification Systems.

There are six U.S. growers operating 18 locations that are certified or soon to be certified. In addition, certified wholesalers/distributors include Delaware Valley Floral Group, Savoir Fleur and Sierra Flower Trading.
