Bailey Nurseries is introducing 20 new varieties for 2015. The introductions include one Easy Elegance rose, one hydrangea from the Endless Summer collection, and 18 new plants in the First Editions line.
Endless Summer BloomStruck bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'PIIHM-II') is a rebloomer with glossy foliage, ruby red stems and rose-pink or purple flower heads. Bred by Dr. Michael Dirr's Plant Introductions, Inc., in Georgia, it boasts above average heat tolerance and disease resistance, especially to powdery mildew.
Easy Elegance Screaming Neon Red rose (Rosa 'BAIneon') features wave-like petals and disease-resistant, dark green foliage that turns burgundy-red in the fall.
Among the new additions to the First Editions line are St. Croix American elm, Midnight Magic crape myrtle, Toscana barberry, Groovy Grape butterfly bush, and Parkland Pillar birch.
