Arborjet | Ecologel announces that Sarah Spatola, the Director of Product Marketing, is appointed as a new board member for Project EverGreen. The organization is dedicated to preserving and revitalizing green spaces, with a dedicated mission designed to “bring people together to make a difference in how our yards, parks and communities create a greener, healthier, cooler Earth.”

“Sarah's appointment to the board is a testament to her passion for environmental sustainability and her dedication to improving the lives of people serving in the military and in under-resourced communities,” said Cindy Code, Executive Director Project EverGreen. "We are proud to have Sarah as a part of our team and are confident that her expertise and insights will contribute significantly towards the success and growth of healthy yards, parks and community green spaces."

Sarah is also a committee member for Project EverGreen’s GreenCare for Troops (GCFT) Program. Through GCFT, military personnel can request lawn and landscaping services during their period of deployment. Last year, the program engaged 2,000 active volunteers, who helped more than 1,000 military families maintain their home lawns. Since its inception, more than 12,000 military families and 7,000 contractors have registered for the program donating more than $15 million towards in-kind services.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to increase my participation in Project Evergreen,” said Spatola. "I have a long standing respect for the organization, its mission, and the programs it administers to bring the benefits of green spaces to our military families and underserved communities. In joining the Board, I am looking forward to being a part of the conversation to share the value of green spaces with a broader audience."

This year marks the the sixth consecutive year that Arborjet | Ecologel will be an official Silver sponsor of GCFT. A sponsorship initiative that Spatola spearheaded after Arborjet and Ecologel partnered in 2018. In addition to the the sponsorship, Arborjet | Ecologel provides free Hydretain products to help maintain the lawns and landscapes of deployed military personnel, while also helping them reduce their water bills.

Ecologel’s Hydretain is a soil moisture management technology that is designed to significantly reduce watering requirements of turfgrasses, trees, shrubs, flowers, container plants and agriculture by as much as 50%. GCFT volunteers can sign up for free Hydretain products once they are matched with a military family.

Arborjet | Ecologel also offers another product pertaining to SnowCare for Troops. Na-X, which quickly reduces sodium levels in the soil, and can be used to flush sodium left behind from the use of ice-melt products. Na-X will continue to be available to volunteers through the 2024 sponsorship.
