Academy of Crop Production slated for June 12-15

The 4-day conference focuses on advanced ornamental crop production and business management techniques.

The Georgia Green Industry Association and the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service are teaming up to produce a new education event, The 2016  Academy of Crop Production, in Athens, GA. June 12-15th.

The Academy of Crop Production is a Southern-centric four day conference dedicated exclusively to sharing information on advanced ornamental crop production and business management techniques for ornamental producers. The event is headquartered at the beautiful Indigo Hotel in Athens. This is not a trade show, but rather a concentrated series of classes that focus on important current issues facing growers.

The event is developed for ornamental horticulture growers specializing in greenhouse and nursery production and features an impressive national speaker lineup. 19 presenters will cover topics ranging from technology and pest issues to new plant development and marketing. The event also features a kick off reception on Sunday evening hosted by GGIA at the State Botanical Gardens of Georgia than includes a keynote address from Dean Norton, Director of Horticulture at the historic Mount Vernon, home place of George Washington. The event culminates in the UGA Trial Gardens Industry Open House on Wednesday June 15th.
