Dutch flower auctions FloraHolland and Bloemenveiling Aalsmeer are merging. The intended merger will be called FloraHolland and the organization will retain Bloemenveiling Aalsmeer’s red tulip logo. Headquarters will be maintained in
The new cooperative will operate export auctions in Aalsmeer, Naaldwijk and Rijnsburg, three regional auctions, a mediation office and an import sourcing department.
The two organizations together have sales of nearly 4 billion Euros. Total building space for the two groups is 2.5 million square meters.
The merger is expected to be finalized by Jan. 1, 2008. Until the merger is completed, both cooperatives will continue to operate separately.
