Name: Miscanthus sinensis ‘Second Wind.’ Common name: Japanese silver grass. Description: ‘Second Wind’ is a reblooming grass that grows 7 feet high. The initial flowers emerge in early September and after they dry to a fluffy plume a second set of fresh cinnamon red colored flowers bloom underneath toward the end September. These substantial clumping plants have broad foliage with a silver stripe down the middle. Hardiness: USDA Hardiness Zones 5-9. Landscape use: Grow in full sun in a well-drained soil.
