Company News

Nexus Corp. CEO Cheryl Longtin and president Mike Porter announced the ribbon cutting ceremony for the addition of the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Pana, Ill.

The new facility will more than double the footprint of the company’s original building and will incorporate all of the latest technological advances. The Nexus Pana plant supplies both the Nexus and National Greenhouse product line for Nexus customers in the Midwest and along the East Coast.


The Turf and Ornamental Communicators Association (TOCA)
is now accepting applications for the 2013 TOCA scholarship for green industry communications students. TOCA will award one $2,500 fall semester scholarship for the 2013-2014 academic year to an undergraduate pursuing a career in green industry communications. To qualify, students must major or minor in technical communications or a green industry-related field such as horticulture, plant sciences, botany, agronomy or plant pathology. The applicant must also demonstrate an interest in using this course of study in the field of communications. Applications are due March 1, 2013. Go to www.toca.org for more details.

announced its sister company, Nurserymen’s Exchange, will officially operate under the Rocket Farms brand. Rocket Farms’ parent company, Monterey Peninsula Horticulture, has spent the last 12 months integrating the operations of both companies after acquiring Nurserymen’s Exchange last August through a subsidiary.


BioWorks Inc.
of Victor, N.Y., has established partnership with CanHorta Canadian Horticulture Alliance for the non-exclusive distribution of their products in Canada, including RootShield, RootShield Plus, BotaniGard, MilStop and CEASE.


Senninger Irrigation Inc.
is celebrating 50 years in business and the agricultural irrigation industry. Senninger has grown to employ more than 200 team members and works with more than 2,000 dealers worldwide. The company was founded by Joe Senninger, a retired engineer.


BASF
announced it will move its education program for turf & ornamental professionals closer to the North American headquarters of its agricultural products business unit. This new program will bring customers to Pinehurst Resort which will include an educational and recreational component, and also allow for visits to BASF research and development facilities in Research Triangle Park and Holly Springs, North Carolina.
