Dianthus Starburst
Dianthus Starburst (‘WP07YETIS’) from PlantHaven is a Whetman dianthus selection ideal for end-cap retail promotions. This exceptionally pretty and unusual dwarf dianthus has delightful art deco patterned semi-double flowers with cherry red and white stripes that look like old-fashioned humbug sweets. Starburst has a long flowering period — from April to October — and will grow well in a sunny spot in well-drained soil. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage further flowers. Starburst is compact with a tidy mounding habit approximately 7 inches by 7 inches of grey-green foliage. Starburst is hardy to USDA Hardiness Zone 5 and requires no vernalization. This beauty is versatile enough for edging, mass plantings and is ideal for patio containers and rockeries.
